Curious about evidence-based public health (EBPH) but not sure where to start? This session will explain the basics of evidence-based public health (EBPH) and highlight essentials of the EBPH process such as identifying the problem, forming a question, searching the literature, and evaluating the intervention.

This presentation meets the NLM/NIH strategic plan goal of building a workforce for data-driven research and health in order to address increasing health equity through information by using the National Library of Medicine’s PubMed bibliographic database and other freely available resources.

Objectives:

Describe the three domains of influence in Public Health
List the seven steps involved in the evidence-based public health framework
Use the PICO (Patient/population; Intervention; Comparison; Outcomes) framework to develop a research question
Apply search filters to find high quality research from at least two online resources
